Perfect !

I already own products from GPD and quality don't need to be prove anymore. The G1 is well constructed, with qusality materials. All is working like intended. Performance are good, even with the switch in quite mode.
Used the G1 with my Minisforum V3 and even on USB4 it's great. All games are playable at 2K resolution with almost 60 to 120 FPS.
Device is cool, never exceed 70 degrees Celsius, fans are audible but the sound is quiet. Not like some gaming laptop who are like rocket turbines.

Good eGPU, poor dock.

Great performance boost to the Win 4. Compact, runs cool, not too noisy. Only downside, terrible USB speeds. Both USB 3.2 SSDs top out at 100MB/S when using the ports on the back. I have had to go back to using the Droix dock to be able to get >1GB/S data transfer speeds. Unusable for external drives which is a shame, makes the setup messy.

Small box of power!

First buying the GPD G1 from droidx has been great. There chat is very responsive and answered my questions etc.. The GPU arrived the next day as per the speedy delivery option and was well packaged etc..

The GPD G1 is excellent:
Computer - I pair the G1 with my Asus Zenbook Flip, it has a 12500H CPU and Thunderbolt 4 ports. I don't have anything with Oculink to test it with.
Performance - my tests put it just behind a desktop RTX 3070 (that I ran in a razor core x egpu box)
Gaming - I can play AAA games between 30 and 60 fps (like Starfield, Hogwarts, Cyberpunk) and older games are no issue
Noise - it can be heard but i would say it is the sound of the air moving rather than a whiny fan, so not that bad when at full speed
Size - this is where it wins as I can put it in my bag with my laptop, and it does not need a separate PSU! It also power the Laptop. (I cant carry a desktop GPU and eGPU box around like this)
Installation - It just works, and does so much better than Nvidia eGPUs that seem problematic
Temperature - I have pushed the G1 (100w firmware) to around 72C in some games and it does jet out hot air for sure. However, the case itself is cool to touch, with the only warm spot on the underside where the GPU chip is
Dock - as well as a GPU it is great as a USB 4 dock, the USB ports are fast (10Gbps) and I tested them with an NVME drive
RGB - it has no RGB, while is great!

The not so great side of the G1 is the AMD support, in that as of now they don't enable some of the more interesting features like RSR and there is no performance adjustments that can be made (voltage, power, clocks etc..)

What would I change - aside from AMD unlocking some of its driver features I can't think of anything

Extras - I have gotten a little vertical laptop stand that lets me use the G1 in a vertical stance with more stability.
