Als je je GPD handheld gaming PC of mini-laptop niet in de fabriek wilt resetten, kun je als alternatief Windows volledig opnieuw installeren. Deze handleiding laat stap voor stap zien hoe je Windows opnieuw installeert op je GPD.
Wat je nodig hebt #
Je hebt een USB-stick van 16 GB of groter nodig om de Windows-set-up naar te kopiëren. Download het juiste Windows .ISO-bestand voor je apparaat. Als je apparaat niet wordt weergegeven of als de downloadlink niet werkt, neem dan contact op met onze klantenservice.

Je hebt ook Rufus nodig om de opstartbare USB-stick te maken. Je kunt het hier downloaden, of GPD’s eigen versie hier.
De USB-stick voorbereiden #
Je zou Rufus en het Windows .ISO-bestand voor je GPD-apparaat moeten hebben. Laad Rufus en klik op Yes om door te gaan als daarom wordt gevraagd.
Selecteer in het vervolgkeuzemenu je USB-stick. Controleer twee keer of dit het juiste station is, aangezien de gegevens ervan worden gewist.
Selecteer vervolgens het ISO-bestand door op de knop SELECTEREN te klikken.
Controleer of je de juiste USB-stick hebt geselecteerd en klik dan op de knop START .
En als je zeker weet dat alles correct is, druk je op OK om het proces te starten.

Het proces duurt ongeveer 20 minuten, sneller of langzamer afhankelijk van de snelheid van je USB-stick. Verwijder de USB-stick NIET voordat het proces is voltooid.
Als je klaar bent, kun je de USB-stick veilig uitwerpen.
Windows installeren #
Steek de USB-stick in een USB-poort van de GPD. Zet het apparaat aan en druk herhaaldelijk op de F7-toets totdat het opstartmenu wordt weergegeven. Selecteer de USB-stick in het menu en druk op Enter.
Het apparaat zal opnieuw opstarten en de software van de USB-stick laden. Dit kan enkele ogenblikken duren.
Vink het vakje Schijf formatteren aan en voer de grootte van de opslagruimte van je apparaat in, die aan de linkerkant wordt weergegeven. Je kunt optioneel kiezen voor de modus Fabrieksfirmware. Druk vervolgens op de START-knop om te beginnen.
Het zal dan beginnen met het installatieproces van Windows, waarbij eerst de bestanden worden gekopieerd en vervolgens toegepast. Het proces zal ongeveer 20 minuten duren, schakel het apparaat niet uit en verwijder de USB-stick niet totdat het proces is voltooid. Eenmaal voltooid, krijg je een melding dat het apparaat opnieuw zal opstarten.
Het apparaat kan een of twee keer opnieuw opstarten, het zal ook iets langer duren dan normaal om op te starten, dit is prima en zal daarna terugkeren naar normale opstartsnelheden.
Na enkele ogenblikken verschijnt het installatiescherm van Windows. Volg de aanwijzingen om Windows in te stellen.

GPD obviously trying to take itself seriously with those prices… so my question is: Why not take their customers seriously then? Why not release their own driver packages and get a DECENT fix for a problem that has been around for months? Why make everyone who paid good money jump hoops and mess around with shady windows installers that you anyway can’t get downloaded because it’s on a… google drive? I take it back. GPD isn’t taking anything seriously, we just threw money in the bin.

Hello I had trouble installing latest windows updates so I did a clean fresh install of windows using official windows and flash drive and now I have bsod while installing windows. Please help gpd support
We would recommend first installing the GPD version of Windows which has all the drivers included. There are different installs depending on your model, please find it at https://gpd.hk/download and download from there.
I tried updating my win mini 7840u to windows 24H2 through windows installation assistant, and now it won’t boot up. It either freezes on the GPD logo or goes into the blue repair mode screen. I tried reseting windows through there or reverting the update but it didn’t help. Will reinstalling windows with this method work?
The latest Windows updates seems to be causing issues with some PCs, not just GPD devices. If you are unable to reset windows or doing an update rollback, then reinstalling Windows is probably the best option. Hi – the instructions have an ISO as the item to use in Rufus, but the download for the GPD Pocket 3 1195G7 is a zip file. How can I use that zip file with Rufus or should I use that zip to create an ISO before creating the bootable media?
The .ISO is inside the .ZIP file which is an archive format. On Windows, you can right click on the file and select “Extract” to get the .ISO file.

I had the same problem downloading the Win11 ISO from GPD. I finally got the Win11 installer set up in my USB drive through https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11, I chose “Create Windows 11 Installation Media”
