Follow these instructions to install the 4G module for your GPD WIN MAX 2 2025. When you receive the 4G module, you’ll find the module unit and a new back plate, which is meant to take the place of the one currently on your device. Take note: transferring the back button parts to the new back plate is a necessary step. This is not demonstrated in the video, so we have provided details for this part of the process below the video.

Transfering some parts to the new back plate #
After you get the new bottom plate and the GPD WIN MAX 2 2025 4G module, you’ll have to make some adjustments. When you first take out your new bottom plate, this is what it will look like:
When you are taking off the original Win Max 2 back plate, you’ll encounter two silver plates. Their position is shown in the photo directly below. It’s necessary to transfer these plates from the old to the new one.
To get the silver plates off, you just need to remove the 4 screws; we’ve marked these in red for you in the picture below. Be careful here: the silver plates have a ribbon cable connected to them, and it’s very easy to damage this cable.
You’ll see the golden connectors (indicated in the picture below) are attached to a small metal plate. This whole assembly is glued down. To get it off, it’s best to use a little bit of heat to loosen the glue – this will make removal easier. The glue itself isn’t very strong, but applying some gentle heat is a safer way to detach the ribbon cable.
Now that you’ve taken these components out of the old back plate, go ahead and install them onto the new one. Doing this will allow your back buttons to work correctly again.
Add some tape to keep the ribbon cable secure #
To keep the ribbon cable secure, it’s a good idea to use some tape. We suggest you add a piece of double-sided tape underneath the cable – take a look at the first picture below to see how. This will do a good job of holding the ribbon cable firmly. If you’ve already closed up the case and prefer not to open it, you can apply tape differently, as shown in the second picture instead.
