25 besvartIs there any chance of an oculink port or Thunderbolt 5 implementation into the Pocket 4? Will the there be compatibility with a telescopic controller like the jawbone
No OcuLink support, but it will support USB 4 so you can connect an eGPU. This isn’t a gaming handheld, more for industry use which is probably why OCUlink is not included. Thunderbolt 5 is available in a few devices, but maybe a bit too early for adding to the Pocket 4, hopefully we see support in the next generation devices out next year. I do not follow telescopic controllers so I can’t answer this, if you can find one wide enough to fit then it should work. Personally I would rather use an external controller.
Will the modules from the Pocket 3 work in the Pocket 4?
We do not have this information yet as the hardware is not finalised. We will hope to have this answer soon.
The Pocket 3 modules are apparently not compatible with the Pocket 4.
I’m seeing conflicting assertions of the max. RAM configuration- 64GB vs.32GB. Which one is correct?
Based on the information we have, it supports up to 64GB RAM and will also have an option for both 64GB and 32GB configurations.
Can the TPD be increased beyond 28W? There are mini PCs being released with the full max 65W this APU supports, is there sufficient cooling to support that?
While nothing is confirmed yet we expect it to be able to be increased up to 54W TDP (possibly 60W TDP) as the GPD Duo does support this and the Pocket 4 will have the same CPU.
Does the display support VRR? Is it native portrait or landscape?
VRR is not supported, but it does have 144Hz refresh rate.
I was guaranteed to buy this… Now that i know it doesn’t have oculink, and they didn’t even make a modular adapter for that… I WILL NOT BE BUYING, very sadly

The GPD Pocket 4 is not a gaming handheld, it is designed more for industry use. You can use USB 4 with an eGPU if needed. There is no doubt that GPD will release a gaming handheld version next year and we would expect it to have OCuLink.
if it’s designed for industry users and not housewifes then it’s very strange it has so-called “AI” features
I do not understand your point. Anyone can use AI, it can be used for something like text or image, video and voice generation, or even controlling smart home devices for example. It can be used in industry, home, office etc.
Hi, Will we be able tune the bios setup to dedicate 24 GB or more to the GPU, so I can run bigger AI models?
I checked the BIOS and there is an option to allocated RAM to the GPU. We have the 32GB RAM model and it allows 0.5GB, 8GB and 16GB options. You would need 64GB RAM to do 24GB or higher by the looks of it.
In “indiegogo” campaign the device doesn’t support GPD Stylus nor Surface Pen, but here in de FAQ it says the opposite. Is there any difference between the mini pc in the campaign and the one here in the shop, or a typo to be corrected? Thanks
Apologies for this. Some of the FAQs were based on predictions. With the GPD stylus it worked fine on Pocket 3, Duo etc so we assumed the Pocket 4 would also support an Active stylus. It will support Capacitive stylus.
is it possible to order battery and fan separately? what about screen hinge?
We do not have these available for order separately. But if you purchased from GPD Store then these are covered under the warranty for two years should they go wrong.
what is the serviceability of the pocket 4, what is access to the ssd like, can the battery and fan be replaced?
do you think they might release an occulink module? maybe not enough bandwidth on the modular port?
We will see about doing a teardown video for the GPD Pocket 4, keep an eye on our blog for more news on this. I believe the bandwidth on the modular port is around USB speeds so it would not be possible to add support for OCuLink there.
Can it play the sims 4 and inzoi
It can run Sims 4 just fine. Inzoi is not officially released yet, but we will try and check it out once it is in a few days.

If i shut off the Pocket 4, i cannot get it to power on when i press the power button. Tried 2-3s to even 10s, it just doesnt power up. It only powers up when i have the power adaptor plugged in then the power button will work.
No issues with sleep. But i dont want to keep putting it to sleep if i have a long dormant period.

Are you shutting down Windows via the Start Menu then Shut Down? Try this and wait for it to fully shut down. Give it a few moments then hold the power button for a second or two and see if the LED lights up? Wait a few moments to see if it starts to boot, occasionally it can take a little longer to boot. Also does the device stay on if the charger is not connected once you are in Windows? Can the Pocket 4 connect with a single USB-C cable between the USB4 port and a video conferencing display with ethernet and a USB hub and simultaneously charge the pocket 4 battery and handle all the video, audio, and data both directions? (I want an uncluttered workstation – actually 3 of them – to move a mini pc or mini laptop between.)
Hey Bill,
The Pocket 4 uses USB4, so technically it can transfer data up to 40Gbps. As long as the video conferincing display actually supports this function, the GPD Pocket 4 would definitely support these transfer speeds. As we have used it with a Dell Docking Station (Which takes a Ethernet Port, 2x 4K Displays and a few USB ports)

I want to use Docker on windows, but I don’t know how to turn on VT in BIOS settings.
With AMD processors it is caleld AMD Virtualization (SVM), check for this in the BIOS. If you are still having an issue enabling it please get in contact with our customer service at [email protected] and we can look into it further.
does it worth to upgrade to win 11 pro? and how much ill cost?
We personally do not offer the upgrade to Pro version. There are some differences including Bitlocker encryption, Remote Desktop and VM related features which the average home user wouldnt need.

LTE Module Linux Drivers ( Linux Mint or Ubuntu )
Please poste a link to the Linux drivers for the $g Module
Unfortunately GPD only make drivers for Windows and there are no Linux based drivers. I believe there may be generic drivers that you can use, you can join our discord at https://go.droix.co.uk/discord and we have some Linux users that may be able to assit or point you in the right direction.
I run Ubuntu 24.04, and the 4GLTE module works out pf the box.

Does the GPD Stylus for GPD Pocket 3 & WIN MAX 2 work on the Pocket 4 as well?
The Active stylus for Pocket 3 and Win Max 2 series is not compatible. You need a capacative stylus https://gpdstore.net/accessories/universal-stylus-pen-for-gpd/
Is it possible to make the fan stop when the CPU has cooled down sufficiently?
We would not recommend doing so, as there are many processes in the background that would constantly use the CPU, and the CPU without constant cooling would not function properly. The fan already adjusts its speed based on the intensity at which the CPU is running, however, turning it completely off is unadvised.

I have gpd pocket 4, i see in the system theres no battery management. my question which one that good for battery lifetime, always plug to the power outlet, or use the laptop with unplug from power ou tlet and charge only when battery level need to charge eg <40%
If you go into the BIOS settings you can change the battery charge limit there

Yes, it supports battery bypass power.
does the pocket 4 support 5g and if it does will you come out with a 5g module
Currently, there are no official 5G modules available for this device; however, it is fully compatible with 4G LTE. You can easily add this capability by ordering the 4G module as a separate accessory here
For the GPD Pocket 3 Core i7 version, there are currently no newer BIOS version released by GPD. The N6000 model uses different firmware, so any BIOS update for that version should not be used on the Core i7 model.
We also would not recommend using BIOS files from Reddit or other unofficial sources, as flashing the wrong or unverified BIOS can cause serious issues or even make the device unusable.
If your device is working normally on BIOS 1.21, the safest recommendation is to stay on that version unless an official Core i7-specific BIOS update is provided directly by GPD
Hi! Is it possible to upgrade and add more RAM in future if I get 16 or 32GB RAM now?
It is not possible to upgrade the RAM as its soldered on to the board.
I’m having display issues with AMD Adrenalin. It shows sideways and crunched up.
I have Googled the issue and tried adjusting this in Windows and within AMD Adrenalin, but those settings are locked.
Both AMD Adrenalin and Windows are up to date.
Since those settings are currently locked in both Windows and AMD Adrenalin for you to adjust of the display, this sounds similar to some recent reports we’ve seen for the display rotation issue.

GPD CHEATER! I paid 420 PLN and ordered the minicomputer some months ago and in return I received a parcel with stupid unnecessary stuff of three suckers. I still haven’t received my ordered product from GPD! I WARN EVERYONE!
