- Can you switch off the second (top) display?
You can press the F3 key to switch off and on the top display.
- Can you use the top display for video input while the Duo is switched off
Yes, you can. We have tested it with a few devices and you can use a gaming handheld, mini PC etc while the GPD Duo itself is switched off. It looks like it may draw power (around 2W) from the connected device to power the display.
- What CPU does the GPD Duo have?
The GPD Duo is available in two models, the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U with 780M GPU, and the higher performing AMD Ryzen 9 HX 370 with 890M GPU.
- What kind of warranty comes with the GPD Duo
You get a two year warranty when buying from GPD Store, other sellers only offer 1 year.
- Does the GPD Duo support external GPUs?
The GPD Duo supports external GPUs, and as it has an OCuLink port it can take advantage of faster data transfer and performance with the GPD G1 eGPU docking station
- Can the GPD Duo be used as a tablet?
Yes, the secondary screen can rotate 360 degrees, allowing the GPD Duo to be used in a tablet-like mode.
- Does the GPD Duo have a built-in keyboard?
Yes, the GPD Duo features an integrated, non-detachable keyboard with a chocolate key design and white backlight.
- Can I connect external displays to the GPD Duo?
Yes, the GPD Duo supports up to 4 displays in total with the PM14 portable monitors, including its own two displays. You could also connect the GPD G1 eGPU and have up to four displays for a total of six including the Duo’s displays.
- What is the AI performance of the GPD Duo?
The GPD Duo features an NPU with 50 TOPS of AI computing power, contributing to a total system AI performance of 80 TOPS.
- Does the GPD Duo support stylus input?
Yes, the GPD Duo supports active stylus input with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and is compatible with the GPD Stylus as well as the Surface Pen
- What is the screen resolution of the GPD Duo?
Each 13.3-inch screen has a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels with 255 PPI.
- How much RAM and storage does the GPD Duo support?
The GPD Duo comes in two models, the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U will have 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The AMD Ryzen 9 HX 370 has a choice of 32GB or 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB or 2GB of storage using dual M.2 2280 slots supporting PCIe Gen4x4 SSDs.
- What operating system does the GPD Duo come with?
The GPD Duo comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Home 64-bit
- What are the main features of the GPD Duo?
The GPD Duo is a dual-screen laptop featuring two 13.3-inch AMOLED touchscreens, a choice of AMD Ryzen 7 8840U and 780M, or AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, Radeon 890M graphics, up to 64GB of RAM, and up to 16TB of storage.
- Does the GPD Duo support video input like on a portable monitor?
The top display has video input via USB-C that will allow you to connect an external device and use it like a portable monitor.
- When will the GPD Duo launch?
We are expecting the GPD Duo to be launched in around December 2024. We will update with a more accurate date soon.
Does the Duo have to ability to pop the SD card out when you push it in, or do I have to use tweezers to take it out each time? I can push the SD card in until it’s flush but, it’ll read but it is a pain to remove.
It is a push in/push out slot so you will not need tweezers to pull it out. Once you push it with say your fingernail, it will pop up a little and is easy to remove with your fingers.
How’s the compatibility with the Linux kernel? I plan to run it with the mainline kernel if I get one.
We have not tried Linux on it yet. Its something we may look into in the future.
how do i turn off the back screen when using with 1 screen?
Press the F3 key to enable/disable the top display.
Can the user change the wifi module? Or is it baked onto the motherboard?
Based on the pre-production model that we have, it is not replaceable.
Does it support S3 sleep?
It does not support S3 Sleep.
