Win max 2 2025. Quality is on point, it works flawlessly. It is comfortable to hold and game on. Doesn't get too hot while gaming. Most people think it's a work laptop. Once my lte card arives I'll be able to use it anywhere

Hellish. They sent me a faulty unit. After RMA they sent the repaired unit to a different country

Last year I purchased a 2024 model. It arrived with damaged components, including screen and joysticks among others. I filed for RMA in December. They sent an inaccurate return label, leading the device to be held up at a post office for several months. They refused to furnish an accurate return label and so I had to arrange personally with UPS to return the package to me, and then I had to pay out of pocket for a new return label. After they received the unit, I had to pay Droix over $100 USD to repair components that they had previously assured me were covered by the 2-year warranty. After I paid, them they competed repairs. I provided them with my address-- from which I sent them the unit. Today I received notice that Droix has sent the repaired device to an altogether different country.

At the time of this review, neither customer support nor CEO has offered any clarity as to the status of my $1700 USD laptop. Caveat Emptor.

Upon receiving your returned device, our technicians identified signs of liquid damage. This was communicated to you at the time, as it affected the warranty coverage of the repair. We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially considering the circumstances around the initial shipping and label issues. Please know that we remained in contact throughout the process to provide updates as they became available.

We also sincerely apologize for the confusion surrounding the return address. While your RMA was approved a few months ago, and you had since provided an updated shipping address in Greece, our system initially defaulted to your original address. This oversight led to the parcel being shipped incorrectly. As soon as we realized the error, we immediately recalled the package and arranged for it to be resent to the correct address.

According to the latest tracking information, the package has now been successfully delivered, and we hope you are enjoying your device once again.

We truly regret the inconvenience this process has caused you and appreciate your patience and persistence. If there’s anything further we can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly.

Several hits, one big miss (DOA)...

I'm giving my overall experience 2 stars because the customer service has been great so far (still waiting on an update though) and the hardware looked fantastic. Key word "LOOKED".

Short version: The GPD WIN MAX 2 (2025) was bricked on arrival. No lights, no charge indicator nothing. I'm not sure how this could happen (seems like a glaring Q/A issue) but seems to be common enough with GPD that it has me concerned (a quick google or reddit search will return a lot of results for this type of problem). During the return there were three reasons in the drop down for "return reason" and first one listed was "will not turn on". Yikes.

They paid return shipping and it is in the void now, no word on ETA for return of my RMA'd WIN MAX... A bit frustrating. After waiting for the backordered laptop (not knowing it was backordered) for 2 months then this happens. I'm in the USA so that complicates things, you know, like everybody I want it and I want it right now lol. The hardware was so nice in hand. Like I cannot express how nice this thing looked and felt. It was solid. And I like I said CS was great so far.

UPDATE 4/16/25: Received my replacement this past Saturday. I've been using it heavily and so far so good. This is such an awesome laptop and gaming device. I am playing Flight Sim 2020, Starfield, Minecraft, AOE4 all no problems. I haven't had time to set up emulation but I'm sure it will be awesome.

I increased my rating from 2 to 3 stars. Wish I could give it more. I have very little trust in the long term reliability of the product after it came in DOA the first time. Also my replacement appeared to be a previously opened and possibly repaired unit. Hard to say but the unboxing was not as clean as the first one.

All said if you want/need one of these buy it, there is no competition for it. Ultimately I would do it again.

Bad quality, or bad design

This is my first experience with GPD products.
I purchased the Win Max 2 (2025) 64GB/2TB version. I received after waiting several weeks, I pre-ordered it, so the waiting time is not part of this review.
I'm quite upset, disappointed and frustrated for the overal poor quality of this device. At almost each reboot, my device is showing just a black screen and I cannot operate. I need to force shutdown the machine, wait like 10 minutes and then turn on again. This is absolutely not acceptable.
If this is the compromise that I need to accept to work with this device, I cannot digest the high price of sell. There should be a consistency between the quality of the machine and the product performance.
This ratio is absolutely not achieved and this is the reason for 1 star rating.
I'm ready to accept eventual compromise by i.e. a 50% price reduction or a proof of hardware/software redesign with proper validation and verification before starting the mass production and sells.
