The GPD WIN MAX 2, available at the GPD Store, is an impressive Ultrabook that combines work and play in a single device. This Handheld Gaming PC boasts a high-performance AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor with eight cores and sixteen threads, capable of reaching up to 4.7GHz between a configurable 15W-28W TDP. The AMD Radeon 680M provides up to 2.2GHz of power, ensuring smooth visuals on the 10.1″ IPS touchscreen display.

Measuring a compact 8.9 x 6.2 x 0.9 inches (22.7 × 16.0 × 2.3 cm) and weighing just over a kilogram, the GPD WIN MAX 2 is highly portable and can easily fit into a laptop bag or case. This handheld gaming PC supports up to 32GB of LPDDR5-6400 MT/s RAM and up to 2TB of SSD, with an additional slot on the rear for up to 2TB m.2 PCIe 3.0 SSD.

The GPD WIN MAX 2 also comes equipped with full gaming controls, including dual hall effect sensor analogue sticks, a gaming D-Pad, and hall effect triggers. There are even two additional buttons on the back that can be configured to your liking. This Ultrabook also boasts fast WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, with optional 4G LTE support for mobile data.

The GPD WIN MAX 2 is powered by a 67Wh Li-polymer battery, which provides up to 14 hours of light use, 6-8 hours of moderate use, and 3 hours of heavy use. Plus, with a Thunderbolt 4 port, you can connect an external graphics card (eGPU) for even faster performance. There is even a built-in HDMI 2.1 for dual monitor display.

Optimized hotkey detection (shorter judgment interval); brightness hotkeys now adjust by ±10.
Specified ze_loader.dll as 1.11.0. Intel models unable to lock the GPU frequency should install the Intel 6647 iGPU driver first, then update to the latest.
Fixed the power limit being locked at 65W and not restorable when the GPD Win5 is powered via USB-C.
Corrected some text displays; fixed OSD monitoring showing incorrectly when hardware monitoring is off.
Fixed LT/RT not registering as hotkeys.
Fixed a freeze when setting TDP consecutively.
Fixed certain game-profile options (e.g. CPU frequency limits) not applying automatically.
Fixed frame locking failing in some game profiles; frame locking now uses an RTSS process-specific configuration instead of a global one.
Fixed a crash when refreshing the tray icon.

Is it possible to upgrade the RAM on the unit?

Will you be getting any 64GB versions of the 2024 GPD Win Max 2 back in stock? I noticed it wasn’t even listed as a “sold out” option in the configuration selector so I wondered if that variation is no longer even an option going forward.
