It's definitely better than some of the unwieldy handhelds that have been coming out from big name companies like Lenovo and Asus, or even GPD's direct competitors like Ayaneo.

Plays games from Stardew to Arc Raiders exceedingly well, and even emulated games via RetroArch. It's essentially like playing classic handheld and modern games on a refreshed PSP/PSVita hybrid. I imaging the experience is probably even better with a Bazzite dual-boot, which I'll get to eventually. It's definitely not perfect, but I bought it knowing it'd require tweaking and experimenting. The Ryzen 7 7840U and 780M are definitely the sweet spot for handheld gaming.

dissatisfied

I received a unit with the box open with traces of use and with errors, it turns off constantly with a blue screen, the screen stays dark, it took a month to arrive and they only offered me a micro 5% discount for all of this, I do not plan to remove this until I am adequately compensated.

Absolutely love it!

I have to say. I love it. It does everything I need it to from emulation to triple a titles, this thing does it all. Only thing that I really found that would be cool is a removable battery. But all in all I'm pretty satisfied with the device.

This device is amazing! It replaced my awesome steam deck, that I’ve used for several years since it launched. The smaller form factor and slide out keyboard are fantastic. Thank you GPD!

Great service!

My device arrived with a cosmetic issue that made me disappointed, but after I sent in my review, the customer service team reached out on the same day and helped me out! I didn’t expect this level of service or any service at all so I was very pleased. They were willing to do whatever was needed to make things right and they did! My device works great and the customer service I received was top notch. If you’re worried about purchasing and not getting the support you want for the device, have no fear! GPD will reach out and do everything they can to make things right.

Almost perfect

For me personally thy ONLY downside so far is the fans/temp. The console gets pretty warm and the fan does get pretty noisy. Another thing worth mentioning is its weight, my friend said it’s heavy but I think it’s that nice quality item weight. So far I really do like it.

Excellent device

Received the device very fast and works well. Its unique compares to the other PC handheld since this is the smallest one. The tiny mouse pad and slide up keyboard is my favourite feature. Do note that I ran into a small issue with display, but a reset of the bios fixed it. Droix support is very reliable and helpful. Overall money well spent and this device is probably my favourite thing I have purchased in a while.

A mighty compact device

So far so good. I have the 7840u 32GB RAM and I use it as both a working station and a gaming console and it runs every software I tested pretty fast. So performance-wise it is great, however, I have faced a minor issue so far which is sometimes the device does not turn on, the blue LCD turns on but the screen does not. In order to fix this I have to hold the power button for around 10 sec and after that it turns on. So far it happened three times, once for turning the device on and twice after it went to sleep.

QWill there ever be a restock of the win 4 2025? The win 5 seems too large for my use case, unfortunately it seems i stumbled upon the win 4 far too late.

The GPD WIN 4 2025 is not being manufactured as GPD are concentrating on the WIN 5. We hope to see a smaller equivalent to the WIN 4 size in the future though.

QHi! I find the GPD Win 5 too large and unwieldy as a handheld. Will the GPD Win 4 be getting another refresh in 2026 or is it going out of production?

STSupport TeamOfficialAnswered 9 months ago

As far as we know there will not be a refresh of the WIN 4 for 2026 as the HX370 is probably the best CPU you will get in that size handheld right now.

QCan this be used to play vr?

STSupport TeamOfficial

Hi, The GPD Win 4 (2024) is a powerful handheld gaming device that can indeed be used for virtual reality (VR) gaming, its performance may not match that of dedicated gaming PCs or consoles designed specifically for VR. The experience may vary depending on the complexity of the game and the settings used.

QI see that it's backorder, right now, and I understand that it's popular. That said, if I ordered now, is there an estimation of when it would be sent? I understand if it is just a rough estimate, but I'm trying to decide if I buy this direct, or from a third party. Thanks!

STSupport TeamOfficial

Hi, we expect to receive new stock in 2 weeks. Please feel free to email us at support@gpdstore.net for any questions or concerns.

QHi I was looking at your tutorial for installing Ubuntu on the WIN Pocket 3 mini and was wondering if it would be applicable to the WIN 4?

STSupport TeamOfficial

It's definitely better than some of the unwieldy handhelds that have been coming out from big name companies like Lenovo and Asus, or even GPD's direct competitors like Ayaneo.
