Love how powerful this system is. I can play my entire library of games and more on just this one device which saves me from sitting in front of my home PC all the time. I will say I am not a fan of the large battery but you get used to it after a while and Im usually tethered while home anyway. The software was definitely lacking and not fully localized. Software can definitely be modernized. The only physical part of the GPD win 5 I do not like at all is the back paddles. Very difficult to press and in an awkward area for my fingers. I feel for the price the cheap feeling paddles are not it. Otherwise, loving the handheld so far.

While the device is a very powerful handheld I'm disappointed in the portability of it. The external battery is very heavy and, when attached to the device, makes the handheld very awkward to hold. In addition, the battery and A/C adapter use proprietary connectors requiring that a very large and heavy charger be carried exclusively for this device. While the device can be charged/operated via a USB-C port this only works when the proprietary battery is attached. Overall this is not a device I will be taking with me on travels.

No tiene batería interna. Cuenta con un módulo de batería externa que se acopla en la parte posterior. Sin la batería conectada, se puede alimentar mediante una fuente de alimentación de CC para obtener una potencia total de aproximadamente 80 W (TDP) o mediante un cargador USB 4 de 100 W a través del puerto USB, con una potencia de entre 40 W y 45 W (TDP).

We havent personally tried them but have seen reports of others using the Xreal glasses pretty much plug in and play. The RayNeo and VITURE Luma Pro XR glasses have also been confirmed to work fine.

Unfortunately you can not do this. You can make the deposit with one and pay the remainder with another, but not pay the remainder split across different cards.

You can connect an eGPU via the USB 4 port. Although its not really needed as its quite powerful already, anything higher than a 4060M or 7600XTis recommended.

QHello!
I am very interested in the product and wanted to find out before I purchase it.
What kind of cooling solution do you have for the device? Do you have standard thermal paste applied, or is it something more along the lines of PTM 7950 pads? I would be very interested to find out if I can somehow \"upgrade\" the cooling along the line? Since I have noticed that it does get quite hot when under load with the 180W charger while docked in some reviews. Or is there some other way to mitigate this?

It is a standard thermal paste used. You can of course repaste them if you wish to. We have a teardown of the WIN 5 at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lzRdSe160Q which shows the process required to repaste the CPU and what pads are required. We have tried the WIN 5 with the dock and didnt notice any major difference in temperatures. Hope that helps.

GPD supply the WIN 5 with Windows 11 pre-installed. Windows licenses are very low cost when purchased in bulk so the price difference would be minimal. You can if you wish to install your own choice of OS.

You can connect an eGPU via the USB 4 port. We would recommend something faster than the GPD G1 or ONEXGPU 1 as the internal GPU is faster. The ONEXGPU 2 is higher performance than the internal GPU.

QI see that there is a cable that attaches to the battery pack. Can the battery be detached from the cable and the cable be plugged directly to a power outlet to give the device power? When playing without the battery, I'd rather provide power from the bottom instead of the top of the device.

Hey, this external battery is a Li-Po type and is designed as a "backpack" battery, making it swappable and replaceable. The battery is sold both bundled with the device and separately. The connection is proprietary to the GPD Win 5 design, and the battery packs are made for this specific device, including an 80Wh capacity rated around 5,170mAh.

Esta arquitectura está diseñada para soportar cargas térmicas de hasta 120 W durante cortos periodos, lo que proporciona al sistema el margen teórico necesario para alcanzar picos de rendimiento y realizar pruebas de estrés en condiciones de potencia extremas. Sin embargo, GPD especifica oficialmente un TDP de «máximo rendimiento» sostenible para uso regular de entre 80 W y 85 W, que es el rango en el que la mayoría de las pruebas de rendimiento y análisis miden las mejoras de rendimiento.
